Tokyo - Day 1

by - 5:14 PM

My trip to Japan was from 6 - 12 December 2012 last year.  I went with my friends Ina, Dina, Natalia  and Heyrown.  We were suppose to go to Bangkok and been planning since our previous trip to Vietnam (I will blog about that trip later as I promised)  but I booked Japan instead.  Sorry dear friends, I knew you guys were cursing me but Air Asia left me with no choice and the fare was pretty cheap too right???

I am not sure about other country but Malaysian need a special visa to enter Japan.  If you are Malaysian, you can visit HERE to see the requirements needed to obtain the visa.

Our flight from Kuala Lumpur was at 14.40 pm and landed at Haneda Airport at 22.30 pm.  We rushed to catch the last train to our apartment in Roppongi and was very lucky because the train station is located conveniently attached to the airport.  According to my research we need to stop at Hamamasutcho Station, get onto line Oedo Subway Line at  Daimon Station to get to Roppongi.  We kept on looking at our luggage, to get in and out with these luggage will be a bit hard on us. Nevertheless, the Airport staff was very helpful to assist us on which train ticket to purchase for a non-transit journey.  Yeayyy!!!

We go crazy when we saw Family Mart just downstairs of our apartment

We had instant rice that we bought from the Family Mart with Brahim's Chicken Kurma and Heyrown's mum Sambal Ikan Bilis for our supper... Yummy for tummy!!!

That was it on our first day in Tokyo. Nothing much as it was already midnight when we reached there.  For this trip we decided to rent an apartment instead of staying at the hotel because of the facilities. There is a small kitchen equipped with stove, fridge, bread toaster, microwave, oven, rice cooker, plate, bowl, fork and spoon and others cooking utensils, washing machine complete with the detergent, fabric softer and a dryer if we need to wash our clothes, besides TV the host provide DVD player with DVDs and a super high speed portable wifi that we can take with us through out our stay in Japan.  I am very satisfied with the apartment because even thought it is quite small to accommodate the 5 of us but it is super clean, the host Ms Mink is very efficient and helpful.  The apartment is located at the heart of Roppongi, only 8 minutes walking distance to Roppongi Train Station and Tokyo Midtown, Hard Rock Cafe, night clubs, 24 hours restaurants, 24 hours shopping mall, Roppongi Hills are reachable by foot.
